(ATLANTA, GA) - Javier Vazquez was not sharp, but he managed to keep the Chicago Cubs off the scoreboard as the Atlanta Braves shut-out the Cubs 2-0 in the makeup of a game rained out earlier this month.
Vazquez pitched six and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and walking two while striking out five to improve to 5 and 6.
Nate Mclouth put the braves on the board with an r-b-i single in the third and scored atlanta's second run on Chipper Jones' sacrifice fly in the seventh.
Ryan Dempster took the loss for Chicago, allowing two runs on eight hits over six and two-thirds.
The cubs had their four-game winning streak snapped.
