(MIAMI, FL) - Colby Rasmus hit a three-run homer in the top of the first as the St. Louis Cardinals snapped their longest losing streak of the season with a 13-4 rout of the Florida Marlins.
The game was actually close until the Redbirds exploded for seven runs in their final two at bats.
Rick Ankiel added a two-run homer with Skip Schumaker also driving home two as St. Louis snapped its five-game skid.
Adam Wainwright allowed four runs on eleven hits over seven innings to pick up the win, improving to 6-4.
Chris Volsted gave up six earned over five and two-thirds innings to take the loss, falling to 4-6.
