(ST. LOUIS, MO.) - Albert Pujols drove in all three runs and Chris Carpenter gave up just three hits as the St. Louis Cardinals earned a series split with a 3-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Pujols was 2-for-4 with a 2-run homer and RBI double off Aaron Harang, while Cards' Starter Chris Carpenter went the distance to move to 4-0 on the season.
Since returning from the disabled list in mid-May, Carpenter has allowed three earned runs and 14 hits in 28 innings of work.
The Cardinals pulled into a tie with the Milwaukee Brewers atop the NL Central standings with the win, now 31- 23.
