(KANSAS CITY, MO) - Brian Bannister threw eight strong innings to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 7-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds and a three-game series sweep at Kaufman stadium.
Bannister allowed a unearned run on four hits to improve to 5-3 on the season.
Miguel Olivo tied the game for Kansas City with an RBI double in the first, gave the Royals the lead for good with a run-scoring fielder's choice in the third and capped the scoring with a two-run homer in the eighth.
Reds starter Johnny Cueto gave up five runs, all unearned, in six innings of work to fall to 6-4 as Cincinnati has dropped four in a row.
