(CLEVELAND, OH) - Cliff Lee took a no-hitter into the eighth, settling for a three-hit shutout as the Cleveland Indians blanked the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0.
Mark DeRosa put Cleveland on the scoreboard in the first inning when he hit a two-run home run off St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter.
Kelly Shoppach would add a solo shot off Carpenter in the fifth.
Lee lost his no-hitter when Yadier Molina led off the top of the eighth with a double.
Lee wound up walking two and striking out six as he improves to 4-6.
Carpenter gave up three runs on five hits over seven innings to suffer his first loss of the season, dropping to 4- 1.
The Indians took two of three in the series.
