(ORLANDO, FL) - Indianapolis native Courtney Lee is headed to New Jersey in a draft-day deal that will send Vince Carter from the Nets to the Orlando Magic.
The deal sends Carter and Ryan Anderson to Orlando for Lee, guard Rafer Alston and big man Tony Battie.
Carter is an eight-time all-star who has played eleven years in the NBA.
Lee, who played collegiately at Western Kentucky, was taken by the Magic late in the first round of last year's draft and started 42 games this past season, averaging over eight points per contest.
Both Alston and Battie are entering the final years of their contracts as New Jersey is believed to be clearing salary cap space for the 2010 bumper crop of high-profile free agents.
