(INDIANAPOLIS) - Tuesday’s second day of tire testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was rained out, but Goodyear officials and NASCAR drivers left confident that they have done the necessary work before next month’s Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.
This week's test marked the seventh time that Goodyear has tested at the speedway since last year's Allstate 400.
Last year's race saw abnormal tire wear that made it tough for drivers to go more than ten laps at speed on a set of tires.
Four-time Brickyard champion Jeff Gordon said that he is "100-percent" confident in the compound Goodyear ran at the speedway on Monday, saying he ran as hard as he could on the tire.
The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard runs on July 26th.
