(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Gwinnett Braves jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on to edge the Indianapolis Indians 3-2 at Victory Field.
Brian Barton put Gwinnett on the board in the first with an RBI double.
A Brooks Conrad sacrifice fly in the third and a Reid Gorecki RBI double in the fifth made it 3-0 Braves.
The tribe scored their runs in the bottom of the sixth when Steve Pearce's double drove home Luis Cruz and Garrett Jones.
Francisley Bueno allowed two hits over five shutout innings to pick up the win while Daniel McCutchen took the loss for Indianapolis.
Game two of the four-game series is tonight in Indianapolis.
