(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Garrett Jones’ RBI single with two out in the bottom of the tenth gave the Indianapolis Indians a 2-1 win over the Toledo Mud Hens.
Brian Myrow put the tribe on the board with an RBI single in the fourth before Toledo tied it with a run in the fifth.
Toledo reliever Ron Chiavacci opened the tenth by retiring the first two Indians, but Brian Bixler and Jeff Salazar singled and Jones followed with his game-winner.
Indians starter Ian Snell was impressive in his first start since being sent down from Pittsburgh. Snell allowed a run on two hits over seven innings, striking out a victory field record 17 batters, including 13 in a row.
The tribe has won the first two games of the four-game series which continues tonight in Indianapolis.
