(SONOMA, CA) - Kasey Kahne picked up his first NASCAR Sprint Cup win on a road course, holding off Tony Stewart to take Sunday’s Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway.
The seventh caution of the day on lap 108 of the scheduled 110-lap distance forced a green-white-checkered finish.
Kahne pulled away on the restart and beat Stewart to the line by more than seven-tenths of a second.
Marcus Ambrose finished third with Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin rounding out the top five.
Stewart extends his points lead over Jeff Gordon to 84 with Johnson in third 157 points back.
