(ATLANTA, GA) - Chipper Jones hit a game wining base hit in the 12th inning, as Atlanta beat the Cubs 6-5 Tuesday night.
Chicago's Randy Wells, a rookie filling in for the suspended Carlos Zambrano, twirled a no-hitter for 6 2/3 innings before Jones singled in the 7th.
Wells was working with a 5-0 lead, thanks in part to homers by Derek Lee and Alfonso Soriano.
Trailing 5-1, Garret Anderson homered off wells in the 8th, and Atlanta tallied two more unearned runs before the side was retired.
Jeff Francoeur hit a 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the 9th to tie it, setting the stage for Jones' heroics 3 innings later.
