(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The Cincinnati Reds have assured themselves at least a split of their 4 game series in St. Louis.
Johnny Cueto allowed one run in six and a third innings, and Laynce Nix knocked in 2 homers and 4 RBI as the Reds beat the Cardinals 9-3 in St. Louis Thursday night.
Cueto got his first win of his last three outings.
His six and a third innings pitched marked the first time in eight straight starts that he did not pitch at least seven frames.
With the win, the Reds moved to within two and a half games behind Milwaukee in the National League Central.
The Cardinals are a game behind the Brewers.
