(NEW YORK, NY) - Joel Pineiro fired a complete game two-hit shutout as the St. Louis Cardinals blanked the New York Mets 3-0.
Pineiro needed 100 pitches to complete his gem, walking one and striking out one to improve to 6 and 8.
Albert Pujols had a two-run single for the Cardinals.
Livan Hernandez took the loss for New York, allowing two earned runs over seven innings to fall to 5 and 2.
