(NEWTON, IA) - Dario Franchitti used a quick final pit stop to get past Ryan Briscoe and win Sunday’s IndyCar Series Iowa Corn 250 at Iowa Speedway.
The leaders pitted on lap 196 with Briscoe holding a slim lead.
Franchitti's Target-Ganassi crew got him out first and he went on to win by more than five seconds over Briscoe.
Briscoe led the most laps, 85 to Franchitti's 68, and maintains a three-point edge on Franchitti in the IndyCar series points standings.
Hideki Mutoh finished third with defending race winner Dan Wheldon coming in fourth and Scott Dixon finishing fifth.
The series heads to Richmond International Raceway for Saturday night's Suntrust Indy Challenge.
