(BETHPAGE, NY) - The US Open tees off this morning on the Black Course at Bethpage state park in New York.
Much of the focus will be on Tiger Woods, who is the defending champion after defeating Rocco Mediate in a memorable playoff last year.
The youngest golfer in the field is Boonville, Indiana's David Erdy.
The 19-year-old Indiana University sophomore was the first alternate until Shingo Katayama withdrew Monday due to a back injury.
Erdy will be one of the first golfers to tee off this morning and is paired with veterans Lee Westwood and Zach Johnson.
