(MILWAUKEE, WI) - Prince Fielder drove home the go-ahead run with an infield single in the eighth as the Milwaukee Brewers edged the St. Louis Cardinals 5-4.
Mat Gamel hit a two-run homer for the Brewers as Milwaukee is back to within a game of St. Louis for first place in the NL Central.
Trevor Hoffman picked up his 19th save of the year, working out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth by getting Yadier Molina to ground out to third.
Molina had an RBI double earlier in the game with Brendan Ryan adding a two-run double for the Cardinals.
