(WASHINGTON, DC) - The St. Louis Cardinals snapped a three-game losing streak, beating the Washington Nationals 4-1 in a game shortened to six innings due to rain.
Thursday's game was a makeup of a game rained out on may 3rd.
Adam Wainwright allowed a run on eight hits over six innings to pick up the win, improving to 11 and 6.
Rick Ankiel hammered a solo home run, his sixth of the season, and Joe Thurston added an RBI double for the Redbirds, who extended their lead in the NL Central to a game and-a-half over the Idle Cubs and Astros.
