(NORFOLK, VA) - The Indianapolis Indians opened an eight-game road trip with a 7-6 win over the Norfolk Tides.
Brad Lincoln pitched seven innings, allowing two earned runs to pick up the win and improve to 2 and 1.
Shelby Ford drove in two runs for the tribe with Erik Kratz picking up what proved to be a big insurance run with his sixth home run of the season, a solo shot in the ninth that gave Indianapolis a 7-3 lead.
The tides scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth, with Blake Davis' two-run triple pulling Norfolk to within a run at 7-6, but Chris Bootcheck got Justin Turner to fly out to end the ballgame.
The Indians and tides play again tonight in Norfolk.
