(PAWTUCKET, RI) - The Pawtucket Red Sox avoided a four-game series sweep with a 3-2 win over the Indianapolis Indians.
The game was scoreless until the sixth when Aaron Bates' RBI groundout gave Pawtucket the lead.
Mark Wagner hit a two-run single in the eighth to give the Paw-Sox a 3-0 edge.
The Tribe's Larry Broadway broke up a combined no-hit bid by four Pawtucket pitchers with a two-out single in the ninth and scored on Tagg Bozeid's two-run homer.
The Indians return to Victory Field tonight where they open an eight-game homestand with a four-game series against the Durham Bulls.
