(CINCINNATI, OH) - Jonny Gomes lined a two-run homer into the left field stands in the eighth inning to give the Cincinnati Reds a 5-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Gomes finished with three runs batted in as the Reds gained a split of the four-game series. Brandon Phillips added a two-run single for Cincinnati while Prince Fielder hit a two-run home run, his 24th of the year, for Milwaukee.
The Brewers fall three games behind first-place St. Louis in the NL Central while the Reds remain five and-a-half games back.
