(CINCINNATI, OH) - Brandon Phillips hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first as the Cincinnati Reds jumped ahead early and held on for a 6-4 victory over the San Diego Padres.
Jonny Gomes hit a pair of solo homers and Edwin Encarnacion added a solo blast as the Reds snapped a six-game losing streak.
Homer Bailey pitched into the eighth inning, allowing three runs on six hits to improve to 2 and 2.
The Padres have lost three games in a row.
