(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Tennis Championships got underway Sunday with Rajeev Ram defeating Devin Britton 6-3, 7-5 in the lone match scheduled.
It was Ram's first match since he upset Sam Querry in the finals of last week's tournament at Newport, Rhode Island.
The Newport win was the first in the Carmel High School graduate's ATP career.
Britton, who like ram is a wild card entry in the Indianapolis tournament, is an 18-year-old who turned pro earlier this summer after winning the NCAA singles title as a freshman at the University of Mississippi.
There are several matches on today's schedule including Querrey, the number-three seed, taking on Arnaud Clement.
