(BELGRADE, SERBIA) - The United States Men’s Basketball Team edged host Serbia 68-66 to finish second-round play at the World University Games undefeated.
Penn State's Talor battle led the Americans with 17 points with West Virginia's Da'Sean Butler adding twelve.
Purdue's Robbie Hummel scored just four points, but the Valparaiso native nailed a jumper to pull team USA to within a point at 62-61 late in the contest.
Battle would hit a three on the next possession to put the Americans ahead to stay.
Team USA improves to 4 and 0 while Serbia falls to 3 and 1.
Both teams are in the quarterfinal round with the United States facing Bulgaria on Thursday with a berth in the semifinals on the line.
