(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Columbus Clippers scored four runs in the top of the first inning and held on to knock off the Indianapolis Indians 4-2, snapping a four-game losing streak.
Jesus Merchan had an RBI triple, Stephen Head hit a run-scoring double and Lou Marson had an RBI single as the Clippers roughed up Tribe starter Phil Dumatrait.
The Indians would get an RBI double from Brian Bixler in the sixth and would score another run on a wild pitch in the ninth.
Game three of the four-game series is scheduled for this afternoon at Victory Field.
