(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Colts Coach Jim Caldwell says safety Bob Sanders is making progress from offseason knee surgery.
Sanders is in Birmingham, Alabama to be examined by noted Orthopedic Surgeon Doctor James Andrews.
Andrews told the Colts that Sanders' recovery is on target, although the team is unsure whether the former NFL defensive player of the year will be ready for the September 13th regular season opener against Jacksonville.
Sanders and kicker Adam Vinatieri are the lone players remaining on the Colts' physically unable to perform list.
