(TERRE HAUTE, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts practiced in full pads for the first time Tuesday morning.
The horseshoes completed their first contact drills of camp before heavy rain hit Terre Haute shortly before noon.
Head coach Jim Caldwell says there is a fine line between getting players used to contact and avoiding injuries during camp.
In the Colts' Drills on Tuesday, the defenders made contact with the ball carriers, but the goal was to stop the ball carrier's progress and not to bring him down to the ground.
Tuesday afternoon's practice was a special teams-only workout.
Full-squad two-a-days resume today with one practice this morning followed by the first night practice of camp.
