(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Virgil Vasquez pitched seven strong innings as the Indianapolis Indians edged the Columbus Clippers 2-1 at Victory Field.
Vasquez allowed a run on three hits over seven innings to improve to 7 and 2.
Matt LaPorta put Columbus on the board with a solo home run in the top of the second.
Jeff Clement tied the game with a solo blast in the bottom of the second and Brian Myrow put the tribe up for good with an RBI single in the fifth.
Indianapolis took two of three in the series.
They hit the road for seven games, beginning with a rematch with the Clippers tonight in Columbus.
