(JOLIET, IL) - The IndyCar Series races at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend.
Practice is scheduled for this morning with qualifying for Saturday night's peak Indy 300 taking place this afternoon.
Helio Castroneves is the defending race winner.
Ryan Briscoe won the pole at Chicagoland last year and enters the weekend as the IndyCar Series points leader.
Dario Franchitti is second, four points behind Briscoe while defending series champion Scott Dixon is 20 points back.
Castroneves is still mathematically alive as he tries for his first IndyCar Series championship.
The three-time Indianapolis 500 winner is 126 points behind with three races left in the season.
