(SEATTLE, WA) - Alexei Ramirez hit his first home run in more than a month and the three-run shot in the top of the ninth gave the Chicago White Sox a 3-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
Both starters dominated early.
Seattle's Doug Fister allowed one hit over six shutout innings while Chicago's John Danks gave up a run on seven hits over eight innings, allowing an RBI single in the fourth inning to Russell Branyan.
Seattle closer David Aardsma retired Paul Konerko to open the ninth, but then walked AJ Pierzynski.
Carlos Quentin followed with a single before Aardsma gave up Ramirez' game-winner.
Danks picked up the win, improving to 10 and 8.
Aardsma took the loss for Seattle.
