(SONOMA, CA) - The field for Sunday’s Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma was two cars short as drivers Will Power and Nelson Philippe remain hospitalized.
The two were injured in a crash during a practice session on Saturday.
Power broke two vertebrae in his lower back and sustained a concussion.
Philippe also suffered a concussion as well as a broken left foot that required surgery.
Philippe lost control of his car on the top of a hill and the front end was clipped by Dan Wheldon's car.
Power arrived moments later and t-boned Philippe's car.
