(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The Milwaukee Brewers avoided a three-game series sweep in St. Louis with a 4-3 victory over the Cardinals.
Casey McGehee struck the key blow, a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning. McGehee drove in three of Milwaukee's four runs.
Manny Parra evened his record at 10 and 10, pitching into the seventh inning and giving up two runs on five hits.
Julio Lugo and Matt Holliday hit solo homers for St. Louis with Ryan Ludwick adding an RBI single.
John Smoltz took the loss, his first in a Cardinals uniform as he falls to 3 and 6 on the season.
