Caldwell Addresses 14-12 Win Over Jacksonville

Last updated on Tuesday, September 15, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - While the status of Anthony Gonzalez was the major topic, Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell did take time to address Sunday’s 14-12 win over Jacksonville during his weekly news conference on Monday.

Caldwell says he was pleased with the performance of rookie receiver Austin Collie and second-year wide-out Pierre Garcon, who saw extended action after Gonzalez went down with a knee injury.

Caldwell was also pleased with the Colts' run defense, which held perennial nemesis Maurice Jones-Drew to 97 yards.

He was not pleased with the short yardage offense, which failed to convert in a couple of key situations.

Caldwell said that after looking at the game tape that the problems were not major, with small errors in technique causing the collapse of the short-yardage plays.

The Colts are off until Monday night when they face the Dolphins in South Florida.
