(MIAMI, FL) - The Indianapolis Colts made the most of what little time they had the football on Monday night as they beat the Miami Dolphins 27-23 at Land Shark Stadium in South Florida.
Peyton Manning hit Dallas Clark on an 80-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage of the game to set the tone for a wild evening of football.
Miami used its Wildcat offense and its short passing game led by Chad Pennington to hold onto the ball for more than 45 minutes.
The Dolphins took a 23-20 lead on a Dan Carpenter field goal with 3:50 remaining, but the Colts came back again with a four-play, 80-yard drive that took just 32 seconds and culminated on a 48-yard Manning to Pierre Garcon touchdown pass that proved to be the game-winner.
The Colts improve to 2 and 0 heading to their Sunday night game with the Cardinals in Arizona. The Dolphins fall to 0 and 2.
