(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Fever need a win tonight to stay alive in the WNBA Playoffs.
The Fever are on the brink of playoff elimination after falling to the Detroit Shock 72-56 in game one of the Eastern Conference Finals Wednesday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Fever led by eleven points late in the second quarter, but the Shock closed out the half on a 13-4 run and outscored Indiana 17-6 in the third quarter to take command.
Rookie Shavonte Zellous led the Shock in game one with 23 points with Deanna Nolan adding 22. Katie Douglas led Indiana in the opener with 16 points.
Game three, if necessary, would be Saturday night at Conseco Fieldhouse.
