(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Cars from the Grand AM Series tested at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Thursday afternoon.
Five Daytona prototypes and four GT touring cars ran on the former formula one course at the speedway.
There are no plans for a sports car race to be held at IMS, but a one-time event could be held as part of the speedway's centennial celebration.
Among the drivers participating in Thursday's test were 2004 Indianapolis 500 champion Buddy Rice and Scott Pruitt, who has raced in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400 at the track.
