(SEATTLE, WA) - Ichiro Suzuki’s RBI single in the bottom of the 14th inning gave the Seattle Mariners a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Chicago built a 3-0 lead as AJ Pierzynski hit a sacrifice fly in the first and Mark Kotsay added RBI singles in the third and fifth innings.
John Danks allowed a home run to Adrian Beltre in the seventh and left the game after pitching eight innings of one-run, four-hit baseball.
Seattle came back in the ninth when Jose Lopez and bill hall hit solo shots off White Sox closer Bobby Jenks to tie the game.
That would be all of the scoring until Ichiro's game-winner.
With the loss, the Sox missed an opportunity to gain ground on Detroit in the AL Central.
They remain 6 1/2 games behind the Tigers in the division.
