(LOUDEN, NH) - Mark Martin held off Juan Pablo Montoya on a late restart to win Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire International Speedway.
Denny Hamlin would get around Montoya late and finish second with the 2000 Indianapolis 500 winner coming in third.
Three-time defending Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson was fourth with Kyle Busch fifth.
After the first of ten races in the chase for the Sprint Cup, Martin holds a 35-point edge over Johnson and Hamlin in the points standings.
Among the three drivers with Indiana ties in the chase, Ryan Newman finished seventh, Tony Stewart was 14th and Jeff Gordon came in 15th.
Stewart is sixth in points, 74 points behind Martin. Newman is seventh, 79 points behind while Gordon is tenth, 102 points out of the lead.
