(CINCINNATI, OH) - Jay Bruce marked his return to Cincinnati by driving home the go-ahead run with a pinch-hit, two-run single in the seventh as the Reds got past the Houston Astros 3-1.
Bruce was activated off the disabled list before the game after a rehab assignment in Louisville.
He had been out of the Reds' lineup since breaking his wrist in New York just before the all-star break.
Brandon Phillips would tack on a solo home run in the eighth, his 20th of the season.
Bronson Arroyo allowed a run on six hits over seven innings to pick up the win, improving to 13 and 12 as the Reds have won a season-high five straight games at home.
