(DENVER, CO) - Seth Smith’s infield single off Brandon Phillips’ glove scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to give the Colorado Rockies a 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Scott Rolen had given Cincinnati a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth when his line drive off of Matt Daily just cleared the left field fence for his tenth home run of the season.
Francisco Cordero got Yorvit Torrealba to fly out before yielding a double to Clint Barmes and back-to-back walks to Jason Giambi and Ryan Spilborghs.
After striking out Carlos Gonzalez, Cordero gave up a hard grounder to Smith that went off Phillips' glove into short center field allowing Barmes and pinch runner Jason Marquis to score.
The Rockies have won six in a row while the Reds have dropped the first three games of the four-game series.
