(DETROIT, MI) - Placido Polanco and Carlos Guillen homered on back-to-back pitches in Detroit’s four-run first inning as the Tigers beat the Cleveland Indians 8-5.
Brandon Inge would hit a two-run shot in the third while Aubrey Huff finished with three runs batted in for Detroit.
Grady Sizemore hit a two-run double and Andy Marte hammered a solo shot for Cleveland.
Edwin Jackson picked up the win to improve to 11 and 6 while Carlos Carrasco took the loss in his major league debut.
