(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - There will be no “Mackey Madness” at Purdue University for the next two years due to the ongoing construction project at Mackey Arena.
Athletic Director Morgan Burke released a statement on Thursday saying that the renovations require that the available time between basketball seasons be reserved for construction.
"Mackey Madness" is an event that celebrates the first men's and women's basketball practices in October.
The event was brought back last season after a five-year hiatus. Burke Hopes that construction is far enough along in 2011 to permit the return of "Mackey Madness".
