(CHICAGO, IL) - Carlos Quentin hit a three-run homer and drove in four as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers 8-4.
Scott Podsednik added an RBI Triple and Gordon Beckham had a run-scoring double as the Sox took two of three from the first-place Tigers in the series.
Curtis Granderson hit his 28th home run of the season for the Tigers, who did not lose any ground to Minnesota in the race for the AL Central lead as the Twins lost at Kansas City.
The Tigers hold a two-game lead over Minnesota in the Central.
The White Sox were eliminated with their loss to Detroit on Saturday.
