(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The Indianapolis Colts improved to 6 and 0 with a 42-6 pounding of the Rams Sunday afternoon in St. Louis.
Peyton Manning failed to extend his team record for consecutive 300-yard passing games, but he did not have to.
Manning completed 23 of 34 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns in the rout.
He had thrown for more than 300 yards in all five of the Colts' previous games this season.
Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie and Dallas Clark caught Manning's touchdown passes with Joseph Addai and Chad Simpson getting scores on the ground.
Rookie defensive back Jacob Lacey intercepted a Marc Bulger pass and returned it 35 yards for the Colts' other touchdown.
Steven Jackson ran for 134 yards for St. Louis, but 101 of those came after halftime with the Rams down and the Colts paying more attention to the pass.
The Rams remain one of three winless teams in the league at 0 and 7.
The Colts return home for three-straight, beginning with the San Francisco F49ers on Sunday afternoon.
