(ATLANTA, GA) - The Atlanta Hawks used a 12-1 run midway through the fourth quarter to pull out a 120-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers in the regular-season opener for both clubs.
Joe Johnson led Atlanta with 25 points with Al Horford adding 24 points and 16 rebounds as the Hawks outscored Indiana 20 to eight over the final 8:05 of the game.
Danny Granger started despite a bone bruise on his right heel and led all scorers with 31 points.
Earl Watson finished with 20 points in his Pacers debut with Dahntay Jones contributing 17 points in his first game with Indiana and Troy Murphy adding a double-double of 14 points and ten Rebounds.
The Pacers open the home portion of their schedule on Friday when they host the Miami Heat.
