(PARK RIDGE, IL) - Both Indiana and Purdue are represented in this week’s Big Ten Football Player of the Week Awards.
IU Quarterback Ben Chappel is the co-player of the week on offense while Boilermakers Defensive End Ryan Kerrigan is the defensive player of the week.
Chappel completed 23 of 38 passes for a career-high 333 yards and three touchdowns in the Hoosiers' 27-14 win over Illinois on Saturday night.
He shares the award with Michigan State Wide receiver Blair White.
Kerrigan recorded a team-high nine tackles, including three sacks and four tackles for loss in the Boilers' 26-18 upset of then-seventh ranked Ohio State on Saturday afternoon.
He is the first Purdue defender to win player of the week honors since 2006.
