(MUNCIE, IN) - It’s senior night tonight in Muncie as the Ball State football team takes on Central Michigan at Scheumann Stadium.
The Cardinals are 1-9 and have dropped two straight after recording their lone win of the season, a 29-27 victory over Eastern Michigan on October 24th in Ypsilanti.
Ball State has gone 1-2 since Tanner Justice took over as starting quarterback. The fifth-year senior took the reins when redshirt freshman Kelly Paige suffered a thumb injury against Bowling Green.
The Chippewas are 8-2, 6-0 in Mid-American Conference play.
Central Michigan is led by senior quarterback Dan Lefevour. Lefevour ranks fifth in NCAA division-one history with 14,458 total yards in his career.
He is the only player in NCAA history to throw for more than 11,000 yards and rush for more than 2,500.
The Chippewas are still in a race with Northern Illinois for the MAC West championship and a berth in the MAC championship game.
Central Michigan will wrap up the title with wins in their final two games with Ball State and Northern Illinois.
A win by the Chippewas tonight combined with a loss by Northern Illinois at Ohio on Saturday would also give Central Michigan the MAC west title.
Ball State won last season's game 31-24 in Mount Pleasant.
