(ANAHEIM, CA) - Demontez Stitt hit a pair of free throws with 3.3 seconds remaining to give number 19 Clemson a 70-69 victory over the Butler Bulldogs in the fifth place game of the Seventy-Six Classic in Anaheim.
Stitt's free throws capped an 8-2 run by the Tigers over the final 2:59 of the game.
Stitt led all scorers with 19 points with Trevor Booker and Andre Young finishing with twelve points each as Clemson improves to 6-1.
Gordon Hayward led Butler with 18 points with Shelvin Mack adding 15 and Matt Howard finishing with twelve as the Bulldogs fall to 4-2.
Butler travels to Muncie on Wednesday night to take on the Ball State Cardinals.
