(MUNCIE, IN) - Shelvin Mack and Gordon Hayward scored 15 points apiece to lead the 20th-ranked Butler Bulldogs to a 59-38 win over the Ball State Cardinals in Muncie.
Mack hit four three-pointers in the first six minutes of the game as Butler opened the contest with a 16-4 run and was never headed.
Matt Howard added eleven points for the Bulldogs, who improve to 5-2 on the season.
Malik Perry was the only Cardinal to reach double figures, finishing with eleven points as Ball State has dropped three in a row to fall to 2-3.
Butler opens Horizon League play on Saturday night when they welcome the Valparaiso Crusaders to Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Ball State is off until Wednesday when they face Indiana State at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute.
