(CHARLOTTE, NC) - Danica Patrick is expected to announce she will drive a partial schedule in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at a news conference today in Phoenix.
Patrick is joining JR Motorsports, a team headed by sprint cup driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and legendary owner Rick Hendrick.
Patrick will run Nationwide Series races during her time off from her Izod IndyCar Series commitments.
She agreed to a three-year extension with Andretti Autosports in September, but the extension was not announced until last week.
Patrick's sponsor in the IndyCar Series, GoDaddy.com, is expected to sponsor her in the Nationwide Series as well.
