(IOWA CITY) - The Purdue Boilermakers improved to 12-0 with a 67-56 win at Iowa in their Big Ten Conference opener.
The Hawkeyes opened the game with a 10-2 run, but the fourth-ranked Boilers came back to take the lead a couple of times before ending the half trailing by one at 27-26.
Robbie Hummel gave Purdue the lead for good with a layup 36 seconds into the second half.
E'Twaun Moore led the Boilermakers with 21 points with Hummel finishing with 16.
Aaron Fuller led Iowa with 15 points with Eric May adding eleven as the Hawkeyes fall to 5-8.
Purdue hosts West Virginia on New Year's Day.
